The Nike Air Max 1 '86 "Obsidian" is an original colorway of the retro performance running shoe modeled after the 1986 version of the model. The Air Max 1 ‘86 is based on the first iteration of the Air Max 1 that was in production in 1986 before the model debuted in 1987 with a slightly smaller visible Air unit. This “Obsidian” edition was among the original colorways of the Air Max 1 that released in ‘87. The modern interpretation of the colorway features a white mesh base with light grey felt overlays. An Obsidian-colored felt Swoosh and mudguard contrast the upper’s neutral appearance. Red “Nike Air” branding is embroidered on the heel while classic “Nike Air Max” detailing is found on the tongue tag. The Air Max 1 ‘86 features a larger Air unit in the heel of the midsole that mimics the version of the shoe from ‘86. Release date: September 9, 2023.
